Resident Assistants and Peer Educators have always been important contributors in helping Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff to serve students. Resident Assistants and Peer Educators refer many students each semester to individual personal and career counseling, testing, and group workshops and programs offered by the Center. Over the years, Resident Assistants and Peer Educators have also been enormously helpful in assisting us to identify and respond to students in crisis.
This guide has been developed to help Resident Assistants and other Peer Educators understand how to recognize and refer students with personal problems to CAPS; to familiarize them with programs and services designed specifically for Resident Assistants and Peer Educators; and to acquaint them with programs and services available to the student body as a whole.
