Why I chose Holy Cross: The community among students and alumni

When I knew I was meant to be a Crusader: When I went to the accepted students day, I knew this was the school I was meant to go to because I could genuinely see myself here. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, I knew it was the place where I could be my best self.

My favorite thing about Worcester: I love how Worcester is so easily accessible to students, yet we are not right in the middle of the city. The campus is safe and private, but we are only a 5 minute Uber from Target or a 7 minute ride from all the amazing restaurants on Shrewsbury street (I highly recommend Mexicali or Volturnos)!

Advice for your college search: Go with what feels right. I knew Holy Cross was right for me, because the first time I stepped on campus, I could envision myself there, and it just felt like home. If you’re deciding where to go, go with the school that gave you “that” feeling. The feeling that it is the right place for you, that you see yourself out on the quad or doing work in the student center. Feeling like the school you’re going to is the place you belong and are welcomed is so much more important than any statistics.

The best/favorite food on campus: D’agostino (or Dags) is the best for breakfast! There are so many options for meal swipes, and their coffee is the best on campus (which you can also get with a meal swipe!) Another one of my favorites is quesadilla Fridays for lunch at Crossroads.

What I love about the Holy Cross community: I love how everybody is so welcoming, and it feels like there is truly a space for you here. The community is genuinely like a family where everyone tries to help you succeed to the best of their ability.

Favorite spot on campus: During the day, I love going to the tables above D’agostino in the science complex to do my work. It’s always very bright there from the sky lights, motivating me to actually do my work. The science complex is just such a fun place in general. There are so many different spots and alcoves to explore.
