Moot Court simulates appellate argument, and thus focuses on legal interpretation more than evidence and cross-examination.
The Hon. Joseph F. Greene, Jr. '51 P81 P84 Moot Court program tests students’ ability to master substantive issues of law. Students must understand the relationships of dozens of legal precedents and be able to answer to judges who challenge their application of legal rules or principles. This emphasis on legal principles contrasts with Mock Trial, which stresses legal procedure, strategy decisions, and clarity of presentation.
