Students will work with the Associate Director of Culinary Operations in Kimball who will provide instructions and training on our MicroGreens growing stations. This position focuses on the following duties to plant, maintain and harvest MicroGreens.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:  Mondays: Plant multiple trays of MicroGreens, Water plants and turn on growth lamps, Thursdays rotate plant trays, harvest as needed based on growth during the week, keep areas clean including the growth units and the planting spaces, experiment with different seeds to see what works best in the environment and communicate with the Associate Director of Culinary Operations when supplies need to be reordered. 

 

Dining Services - Kimball (STOREROOM ATTENDANT)

We are looking for student staff with great customer service skills who are dependable, motivated and possess good time management skills.

Student staff tasks include the following:

Receiving food and equipment orders.

Unload outside vendor deliveries and store received items in designated coolers, freezers and storeroom shelves/pallets.

Load push wagons with items from transfers to deliver to various locations (Bakery, Upper Kimball, 1843 Grill and D'Agostino Cafe).

Follow sanitation guidelines for proper food handling and storage.

Other various tasks include but are not limited to:  sweep and mop floors, cardboard recycling and trash disposal, milk crate and bread rack storage.

 

 

 

Dining Services - Kimball Upper (FRONT STATION)

We are looking for student staff to serve our guests with great customer skills who are dependable, motivated and possess good time management skills. 

Comprised of various food stations along the servery in the main dining hall, students directly assist staff to prepare and serve food to the community. While prior cooking experience is valued at this position, students will enjoy learning from experienced staff how to prepare food, while following safe food practices. Proper procedures for food handling and sanitation must be strictly adhered to. Students will have the opportunity to and should be flexible to the needs of the shift by working in the specific station that is assigned to them by the Executive Chef or Manager on Duty.

Classics Station: This position focuses on the replenishing of the main kitchen’s prepared food items while maintaining the cleanliness of the classics station.

Deli Station: With a modern, create your own sandwich set-up, student staff will assist in customizing orders for customers. This position will entail working with staff to make sandwiches and wraps for guests.

Grill Station: This position varies in responsibilities depending on the time of day. During morning shifts, students will cook eggs, pancakes. For evening shifts, students will be grilling burgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs, as well as frying french fries. This experience will provide extensive cooking skills utilizing a grill and fryolator.

Pasta Station: Student workers will obtain on the job training to cook the pasta and serving instructions. This position focuses on the replenishing of food at the pasta station.

Stir-Fry Station: This position involves cooking both stir fried food and healthy, vegan and vegetarian meals. Depending on the time of day students will cook-to-order omelets or stir-fry creations personalized by the ingredients the customer has selected.

Dining Services - Kimball Upper (DISHROOM ATTENDANT)

We are looking for student staff to serve our guests with great customer skills who are dependable, motivated and possess good time management skills. 

Otherwise known as Upper Kimball or ‘Upper’, it is the largest dining facility on campus and offers a variety of food choices for our diverse community. In this environment, students will interact and work with multiple professional staff members to provide quality service and food to the campus community.

UPPER KIMBALL - Dish room Found adjacent to the kitchen, this essential student position involves the cleaning, organizing and distribution of kitchen equipment for the culinary staff and tableware for all its guests. Through working with fellow students and upperclassmen captains, students will develop skills within a supportive teamwork environment.
