Dear Members of the Campus Community,
Before we head into the weekend, I wanted to briefly update you with respect to my work assembling the committee to coordinate, implement and report out on work to advance the recommendations in the Cozen O’Connor report of the Comprehensive Investigation into Faculty Sexual Misconduct. I am very pleased to announce that Ann Marie Leshkowich, Interim Provost and Dean of the College, and Derek DeBobes, Director of Title IX & Equal Opportunity, have agreed to co-chair the Recommendations Implementation Committee (“RIC”).
As Provost, Ann Marie will also serve on an oversight group that I will chair and convene each semester to review and monitor implementation progress. Other members of the oversight group will include the Speaker of the Faculty, Stephenie Chaudoir; SVP for Student Development and Mission, Michele Murray; SVP for Administration & Finance, Dottie Hauver; SVP for Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff, Heather Hayes; and a member of our Board of Trustees.
Members of the Administration have been reaching out to key representative staff to serve on the RIC, and the Provost and Speaker will be reaching out to faculty in the coming days. Once the full committee is formed, I will send a more detailed announcement to our community broadly. We are also beginning the work to form the standing representative advisory group to the RIC that was recommended by Cozen.
I thank everyone for their willingness to serve in these important roles so that together we can begin to make progress with and on behalf of our community.
