Dear Members of the Holy Cross Campus Community,
We're pleased to announce that finalists for the Provost and Dean of the College position will be visiting our campus after Thanksgiving Break.
We have been working closely with our search team at Isaacson, Miller on the best practices for the search in general and for the campus visits themselves. Accordingly, each of the candidates will meet with the President's leadership team, the Deans (Faculty/Experiential Learning), a group of Department/Program Chairs and Elected Faculty Governance leaders, and a group of SGA and other student leader representatives. The candidates will also have an open meeting with current faculty (tenure/tenure-track and continuing non-tenure track). While we acknowledge that there are many others who work with and would hope to be a part of this campus visit, we will ultimately be relying on this group of community members to observe and evaluate the candidates thoughtfully on behalf of us all. Following the candidate visits, these community members will be asked to share their impressions with President Rougeau, who will make the ultimate selection.
During these visits, the candidates will be observing and evaluating us as well. We hope that every candidate who visits Holy Cross will find our campus to be a welcoming and vibrant community.
While our finalists are eager and excited to be visiting Holy Cross, many are concerned that word of their visits could travel back to their home institutions. We have promised them that our community will respect the confidentiality of their candidacies and resist the temptation to reach out to colleagues or acquaintances to share information about the identities of the finalists or to inquire about any of them. It is Isaacson, Miller’s role and responsibility to conduct the reference and background checks.
We are grateful to our colleagues on the search committee who have worked hard to bring this exceptional group of candidates to Holy Cross and will help us to ensure an excellent candidate experience.
Sincerely,
Vincent D. Rougeau, President
Stephenie Chaudoir, Speaker of the Faculty
