The New Faculty Orientation Program begins with a day-long workshop for all new faculty (tenure track faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting faculty) facilitated by Deans. Following the initial day-long workshop, new faculty participate in an Extended Orientation series over their first three semesters at the College. Fall semester Extended Orientation sessions focus on midterm evaluations, grading strategies, course evaluations, academic and other resources for Holy Cross students, and scholarly support. During the Spring semester, sessions focus on engaged teaching at the College, student advising, and the tenure process. Throughout the year, social opportunities include a tour of the City of Worcester, dinner with the Jesuit community and Campus Ministry, an informal dinner hosted by second-year faculty, and a more formal dinner with the President. Finally, the third semester (Fall of new faculty's second year) series includes sessions on advising concerns and strategies, planning a productive Junior Research Leave, and a discussion on the College's Mission and Identity.
