Hello! Nǐ hǎo!
My name is Shiwen. It's a pleasure to meet you. As a 23-year-old postgraduate student at Beijing Foreign Studies University, I am poised to begin my journey as a Chinese foreign language assistant in the 2024-2025 academic year. Specializing in International Chinese Language Education, my passion for languages has been the driving force behind my academic pursuits.
I was brought up in Shijiazhuang, a city that's youthful and full of energy, not far from Beijing. I ventured to Harbin for my university studies, where I learnt the Spanish language with enthusiasm and got my bachelor degree. This experience not only honed my linguistic abilities but also cultivated a deep respect for cultural diversity.
Upon graduation, I chose to become a second language teacher, a decision fueled by my love for languages and my desire to build bridges between different cultures. As I prepare to step into my new role, I am excited to share the beauty of the Chinese language with students worldwide, fostering a love for learning and an appreciation for cultural exchange.
In the daily life, I would like to describe myself as an easygoing and energetic person. I love communicating with people of different cultures. Besides, I have many hobbies, among them traveling and painting fascinate me the most.
I am eager to embark on this new chapter, confident that my background and experiences have equipped me with the necessary skills to inspire and guide the students on their own journey of language learning and cultural exploration.
I’m looking forward to seeing you in the College of Holy Cross!
