Noemie Gentry

Bonjour à tous,

My name is Noémie and I can't wait to be one of your next French language assistants for the 2024-2025 school year!

I was born in Paris, have lived in Aix-en-Provence all my life, my family is from Brittany and I'm currently living in Strasbourg for my studies at Sciences-Po. I'm delighted to share with you the beautiful diversity of French culture and language. But I must admit that my favorite city is undoubtedly Aix-en-Provence, as I grew up there and it perfectly embodies the atmosphere of the South of France. Indeed, right next to Marseille, the sea, the sun, and the people are incredibly friendly. I even worked in a local bakery selling Provençal specialties, which I'd be delighted to share with you.

But above all, I have a real taste for teaching and interacting with others. Indeed, for almost a year now, I've been giving tutoring classes to inmates at the Strasbourg prison as part of my voluntary work with the REBOND association. I try to make these lessons attractive and interactive, to encourage as much exchange and debate as possible, and I'm delighted to be continuing this experience alongside you at Holy Cross.

I can describe myself as outgoing and smiling! I'm also very energetic and it's hard for me to sit still, as I'm always curious to discover new things and new people. I'm passionate about martial arts, particularly Thai boxing, a sport I've been practicing since the age of 11. In my spare time, I spend time with my family and friends, go to the beach, read a good book, go to an exhibition or bake.

I'm sure it's going to be a great year, and I look forward to meeting you in August !

À très bientôt !
