Hallo zusammen!
My name is Moritz, and I will be your German Foreign Language Assistant (FLA) for the upcoming
2024-2025 academic year. I am 21 years old and grew up in a tiny village in southern Germany.
After finishing high school, I moved to Bamberg, a small city in Bavaria, to study English and Art in
order to become a secondary school teacher. I have lived here for three years, and I am in love
with this town. Bamberg is not only famous for its incredibly beautiful historic city center but also
for its extremely rich beer culture.
I have been fascinated by teaching since I was a student myself, which is why I was drawn to this
field. I am therefore eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to learn from you and gain
invaluable experiences at Holy Cross!
The USA has always been a dream destination for me. From an early age on, I felt the desire to live for once in my life and for a longer period of time in the “land of the free” to get to know the culture, the people, and the language better. The diversity of the country has fascinated me since my school days, during which I learned a lot about the nation and its history.
With my great interest in American and German culture and language and different teaching
methods, I will try to inspire and fascinate you. By drawing comparisons between the two
countries, I hope to offer different perspectives and help you understand how similar yet different
our nations are.
When I am not studying, I love to make art. It doesn't matter whether I paint, sculpt, or do some
digital art; I just like to be creative and create something new!
I also enjoy playing the guitar in my free time. I just like losing myself in the world of music,
whether I'm performing by myself, with other musicians, or in front of an audience. Perhaps we
will sing some German or American songs together soon!
I am looking forward to meeting all of you, and I am very excited to help you learn German!
