"¡Hola!

My name is Lucía and I’m one of your Spanish FLAs this year! I’m 24 and I come from a rainy but beautiful region in Northern Spain, Asturias, but I’ve been living in the South, specifically Granada, for a while now because I went to school here. I’d love to share with you all the differences between these two regions to help break some of the stereotypes most people have about Spain. I encourage you to look up pictures of Asturias and Andalucía, they look like two completely different countries!

I studied Comparative Literature at the University of Granada and I spent my senior year abroad at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, so this will be my second year of college in the US and I’m looking forward to going back, this time as a teacher. After I came back from America, I completed my bachelor's degree and now I'm finishing my Master's in Secondary Education, specializing in teaching Spanish literature.

I love traveling and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds, I have friends from all over the world! I think that being able to do cultural exchanges such as this one is one of the best things about studying languages. Not only does language learning grant the privilege of enjoying new music, books, movies, etc., but it also opens up a new world of activities, experiences, and people to share them with. In my free time, I also love hanging out with friends, reading, cooking... I’m always up for trying new things!

¡Qué ganas de conoceros!

Nos vemos pronto,

Lucía"
