¡Hola a todes!

My name is Claudia and I’ll be one of the Spanish Language FLA’s in the College Holy Cross this academic year 2024/25. I come from the University of A Coruña, in the small city I was born and raised in, but I also did a one-year Erasmus at the Freie Universität Berlin, and now I can’t wait to discover the life of an American-college campus. I have been a teacher of Spanish and English as foreign languages in A Coruña and in Narva too, the city in Estonia where I volunteered with the European Solidarity Corps program.

My mother tongue is Galician, and I also speak Spanish since I was a kid. I did two bachelors in English and Spanish Language and Literature and, as I find languages fascinating, I have tasted a bit of French, Portuguese, Russian, German, and now Italian. However, I must confess I haven’t found yet the time to learn them properly! But one thing is clear to me: The more languages you know, the more you want to know about some others.

I love arts and very often I’m trying a new technique or handicraft (linocut, lettering, binding…) and last year I started to sing in a choir. I’m very passionate about cinema too and since I lived in Berlin I can’t stop dancing and listening to techno, so if you can think about any film or song that I can’t miss, let me know! Anyone who knows me well will tell you that I am very extrovert and extremely talkative, so both in and outside the class, feel free to speak to me in Spanish… or in any other language! Anytime is a good time for a tandem :)

¡Os mando un abrazo!

Claudia
