Courage and the Gospel of the Marginalized
November 9, 2021
Pope Francis insists that the credibility of the Church rests in the Gospel to the Marginalized, the invitation from Jesus to be courageous in living the gospel at the margins. Drawing on thirty years of working with gang members in Los Angeles, Father Greg Boyle, S.J., founder of Homeboy Industries, returns to Holy Cross to talk about joy, hope and the courage of tenderness. With “homies” Brandon Washington and Saul Sanches, former gang members now part of his organization, he shares stories and lessons about creating a "community of kinship such that God might recognize it."
He is author of best-selling books "Tattoos on the Heart," Barking at the Choir," and “The Whole Language: The Power of Extravagant Tenderness."
