Climate Choices and the Future of Dangerously Hot Days

About the Speaker: Erika Spanger-Siegfried, a senior analyst in the Climate and Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists, researches, writes and speaks about U.S. climate change impacts and preparedness. During her more than 20 years as a climate change professional, she has managed half a dozen large-scale, multi-disciplinary climate research and engagement projects.
About the Talk: Spanger-Siegfried outlines the USC's recent report on "Killer Heat" that predicts increasing frequency of record high temperatures across much of the country and explains how this exposure to "off the charts" heat index affects human health. In her remarks and an extended Q & A, she describes action needed to both curb global warming and mitigate its impacts.
