Paul Oxley - Lab

Below are some pictures of the interior of our lab, Haberlin 127. Views of the optical table do not show all of the lasers used to excite Rydberg lithium atoms, since these experiments took place in another lab, before the renovation of the Haberlin building. The dye laser shown in some of the photographs is for general use in laser excitation experiments which require laser wavelengths not produced by diode lasers.

  • Ion source shown on the left and the lithium oven system on the right. Collision experiments will take place at the intersection of the lithium and ion beams in a vacuum chamber not yet installed. The ion source shown is an older "DC" source, rather than our newer RF source.
