Job Description

The Department of Political Science seeks one Work Study eligible student assistant who is a rising senior Political Science major for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. The time commitment is 10 hours a week during both long terms.

The position is to provide assistance to the Academic Administrative Assistant and the faculty of the Department of Political Science and includes: copying class assignment from the faculty, scanning research materials and emailing the faculty, delivering and posting flyers and posters, organizing supplies, maintaining supplies in the copy machine. Trips to the library to pick up books and return books are regularly requested. We will ask you to pick up the mail several times a week. You will assist in the maintenance of display materials on all bulletin boards. (3rd floor of Fenwick Hall)

Greet visitors to the office as needed and take messages. Answer questions about faculty schedules, phone numbers and office locations. Answer the phone if the AA is not at her desk. 

If asked, assist faculty with research and writing projects.

You will come into contact with all faculty, Department Chair - Professor Denis Kennedy, deans and over 400 political science majors as well as visitors from off campus and other departments. Each day you will often be amazed how busy the Department is. In person interview are now taking place and will end on May 21st.. Contact Mrs. Loyd Boyd to set up a date and time.
