Job Description

This community service work-study (CSWS) position is offered through the office of government and community relations (GCR); applicants must receive a work-study offer as part of their financial aid package to qualify.  If you are unsure of your status, please contact the financial aid office or send an inquiry email to Emily Williams at ewilliams@holycross.edu.

Pay Rate:

$15.50 per hour via FWS community service work-study funds

The coordinator will work with the director of government & community relations to organize Sunday morning neighboring parks and streets clean ups. The pair of coordinators will help schedule, promote, and recruit HC student volunteers. Responsibilities include  promoting volunteer opportunities (lobby tables, attend campus events, social media, etc.) and recruiting HC volunteers to serve (solicit help from RSOs, SGA, Athletics, etc.), arrange for equipment (gloves, rakes, trash bags, shovels, etc.) for trash pick up and drop off.

Coordinators will be responsible to track volunteers, i.e. number of volunteers and areas served. Will work with the director to figure out the best way to register volunteers; send reminder notifications regarding upcoming shifts; and follow-up thank you emails.

One of the two coordinators must be on-site for each service event and must record HC volunteer attendance and provide an overview of safe procedures.  Coordinators will be trained by the Quality of Life team and advise handling of materials, including reporting items of concern so the Quality of Life Team .
