The faculty in the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures come from all over the world and from many different cultures. Their research interests and course offerings provide STWL major with rich and varied offerings.
Within the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, you can take courses that explore major world traditions in various literary genres, film studies, visual arts and architecture, politics, history, philosophy, contemporary cultures, and more. In addition, the interdisciplinary nature of the major allows students to frame their understanding of world literature and narrative through issues like race, gender, social justice, and the environment.
