Meet the Co-Chairs
Payton Shubrick '15
Born and raised in Springfield, MA, Payton is a proud graduate of Springfield Central High School, College of the Holy Cross and Bay Path University. The oldest of four children, Payton is a natural leader and innovative thinker who enjoys new challenges facing emerging industries. After reading Michelle Alexander’s The New Jim Crow, Payton became inspired to participate in the cannabis industry to engage the community of Springfield, MA, which has been disproportionally impacted by cannabis prohibition. She started 6 Brick’s with the help of her parents and sister showing that a family-owned business has a place in this industry. Focused on “people, plant and purpose,” Payton strives to debunk myths around cannabis use within the community while being a good neighbor. 6 Brick’s is a four-time award-winning dispensary that has become a staple in the community. Staying true to her commitment to engaging more women, people of color and aspiring entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry, she is an Adjunct Professor at American International College & Clark University, teaching undergraduate and graduate cannabis courses.
