Loyola Hall
Specifications
In Loyola Hall, each room has a private bathroom and offers a variety of living arrangements to accommodate doubles, and three-, four- and six-person suites. In each room, you will find one desk, a chair, a lamp, a dresser and one bed per student. Most two-person rooms are approximately 10' x 20' and are fully carpeted. Every room has a window and fire-retardant drapes. Since the twin beds are extra long, "college size" sheets are recommended.
There is a study room on each floor, a community kitchen, wireless internet access, vending machines, laundry facilities, and a social room that can be used for impromptu meetings, social gatherings and programs. Although Loyola is known for its quiet community, residents can expect a variety of programs hosted by the RAs and House Council such as ice cream socials and coffee houses.
Loyola is also home to a Fitness Studio, which includes cardio equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. The facility also features various strength training equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, plate-loaded machines and equipment easily adjustable to select your desired weight. Additionally, there is an area for stretching and core exercises.
Originally built as a residence for the Jesuits, Loyola Hall was constructed in 1963 and dedicated in honor of St. Ignatius Loyola on Sept. 11, 1965. Loyola is supervised by nine resident assistants (RAs), one head resident assistant (HRA), and one area coordinator (AC).
Loyola 4th floor consists of double rooms that are designated for students who wish to live in an environment free from alcohol and drugs, including disruptive behaviors related to substance use.
