Biography
Theresa McBride has been a member of the Holy Cross faculty since 1973. McBride was a Professor of European History with research and academic interests in modern France, modern Italy, environmental history and comparative history of women and gender. She has taught a course in environmental history "from photosynthesis to global warming" since the Environmental Studies Program was first organized. During her time at the College, she is known for being an active leader; McBride was the chair of the history department twice and served as speaker of the faculty — the first woman elected to that position. In 2012, McBride received the 2012 Distinguished Teaching Award at the College’s annual President’s Convocation and Awards Ceremony. Now, McBride is distinguished as Professor Emerita, History.
