Psychology

The psychology department at Holy Cross engages students in a wide variety of intellectual pursuits with a curriculum that ranges across natural science, social science and the humanities.

Our program is committed to creating an intellectual environment in which students investigate scientific knowledge about the brain, behavior and mental life.

Why Study Psychology?

Students develop an understanding of the nature of psychological knowledge, methods, and theories and are challenged to think about questions that are fundamental to the discipline. In carrying out psychological research, students develop an understanding of methods of inquiry and learn to communicate ideas and research findings effectively. They explore how the work of psychologists is related to broader social and cultural contexts, addressing social concerns and serving human needs.
