About the Speaker: James J. O'Connor '58 is retired chairman and CEO of Commonwealth Edison, Illinois' largest utility company, and co-founder and co-chairman of the Big Shoulders Fund, a charity that supports Catholic education in Chicago. He is director and non-executive chairman of Armstrong World Industries and was a director of United Airlines for over 28 years. He has provided his leadership to a number of Chicago's cultural institutions and nonprofits, including the Field Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Chicago Symphony, Catholic Charities, the American Cancer Society and the United Way.
About the Talk: James O'Connor recalls his Holy Cross days, and draws on his vast corporate experience to identify key characteristics for success. He also talks about the Big Shoulders Fund and the importance of contributing to civic life.
