Women in Business
Through networking opportunities, and the annual Women in Business Conference, Holy Cross students gain the necessary skills to become leaders in business. Women make up about half of the management, professional, and related occupations, yet only 15 percent of Fortune 500 corporate officers and board directors are women. Before entering the arena of organizational politics, women students will learn ways in which they can have influence in their jobs, impact in their organizations and develop their careers while remaining true to their values.
The main event of the Women in Business network is the annual conference held on campus during the fall semester. The conference celebrates more than 30 years of Holy Cross women in business, honors the success of Holy Cross women in business, and inspires future Holy Cross leaders.
The goals of Holy Cross Women in Business are:
- To promote business literacy for women in a liberal arts environment
- To heighten awareness and knowledge for Holy Cross women interested in business about summer and career opportunities.
- To establish a mentoring network by creating an environment for students to interact with alumnae; and for alumnae to interact with other alumnae.
- To understand the additional complexities involved with being a woman in today’s business world.
