Latin American and Latino Studies

The Latin American and Latino Studies program is an interdisciplinary concentration, designed to introduce students to the diverse peoples and cultures of Latin America as they are situated in a historical and international context.

Students have the opportunity to select courses from various disciplines - including anthropology, history, modern languages and literatures, political science, religious studies, sociology, and music - in order to broaden their understanding of the events and processes that have shaped Latin America and the lives of its people.

The curriculum also affords students the chance to study Latino and Hispanic-American populations within the United States, focusing on the integration of Latin America into U.S. history and society, as well as American foreign policy issues.
